Golfers Elbow 

Although Medial Epicondylitis is known as golfers elbow and people think that this is the cause, it can be caused by a number of activities.

Overuse of the repetitive use of flexor & pronator forearm muscles can cause micro-traumas inflammation, & possibly micro-tears, where common flexor tendon of forearm attaches resulting in disruption & degeneration of tendon’s internal structure are the most common causes. 

What can cause Golfers Elbow?

Golfers Elbow can be caused by a number of things including:

  • Repetitive work or sport activity 
  • Athletes who throw especially overhand (golf, baseball, racquet sports), factory workers, manual labourers, office workers 
  • Handling loads >5 kg (2x/min at minimum of 2 hrs/d), handling loads > 20 kg at least 10 x/d
    and high hand grip forces for > 1 hr/d 
  • Working with vibrating tools > 2 hrs/d
